Dreaming of a luxury getaway in the Algarve, complete with stunning coastal views, hidden sea caves, and mouthwatering local cuisine? Pine Cliffs Resort in Albufeira, Portugal, is the perfect destination. This four-night escape offered the ideal mix of relaxation, adventure, and authentic charm.
Here’s your full Albufeira travel guide—along with smart packing advice, curated excursions, and how Agile Escapes can help you plan your ideal trip.
Getting to Albufeira: Travel Tips That Save
As a travel agent and the founder of Agile Escapes, I arranged an amazing four-night bed-and-breakfast package at Pine Cliffs for just £350 per person. The deal included:
- Return flights from London Gatwick with easyJet
- Private airport transfers
- Accommodation at the five-star Pine Cliffs Resort
Packing Smart: Travel Light and Skip Fees
To avoid extra baggage charges, I bought this EasyJet-sized hand luggage suitcase and packed light. It was just right for a four-night stay—just be sure not to overpack it.
I also used compression packing cubes to maximise space and stay organised. These two items made packing simple and stress-free.

We kicked off our Algarve adventure in the best possible way—with a relaxing visit to the No1 Lounge at London Gatwick North Terminal. This premium airport lounge experience offers a calm and comfortable environment to unwind before your flight. With complimentary drinks, snacks, high-speed Wi-Fi, and runway views, it’s the perfect escape from the usual airport crowds. Whether you’re sipping a glass of wine or enjoying a hot breakfast, the No1 Lounge sets the tone for a smooth and stress-free start to your holiday.
Looking to elevate your travel experience with airport lounge access? I can include it as part of your tailor-made trip package, ensuring your getaway starts in style from the moment you arrive at the airport.

Arrival at Pine Cliffs Resort, Albufeira
Just 30 minutes from Faro Airport, Pine Cliffs Resort welcomed us with peaceful pine forests, elegant design, and a clifftop setting overlooking the Atlantic. It offers the perfect balance of natural beauty and five-star comfort.
We stayed in the Deluxe Queen Resort View Room—a super comfortable bed, beautifully tiled headboard, plush robes, slippers, and luxury toiletries. Garden and pool views, plus easy access to walking trails and sunset spots, made it an ideal, relaxing base.
From golden hour cocktails on the terrace to twilight strolls through the pine-scented pathways, every moment felt special.

Praia da Falésia Beach: Golden Sands & Red Cliffs
Praia da Falésia, one of Portugal’s top beaches, is easily reached from Pine Cliffs Resort via a scenic panoramic lift. With its golden sands and striking red cliffs, it’s perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or scenic coastal walks.
We brought this lightweight Turkish cotton beach towel—it folds up small, dries quickly, and repels sand, unlike bulky traditional towels. There are also towel huts near the beach for added convenience.

Albufeira Boat Tour: Benagil Caves & Dolphin Watching
A highlight of our Algarve trip was the Benagil Cave and dolphin watching tour, which we booked through GetYourGuide. It was more affordable than the hotel’s option and included a discount—great value for an unforgettable experience.
The boat departed from Albufeira Marina, just a quick Uber ride away. Exploring the famous Benagil Sea Cave and spotting wild dolphins were truly magical moments.
To capture it all, I used this phone gimbal, perfect for filming smooth, cinematic travel footage. Ideal for content creators or anyone wanting pro-level holiday videos.

Exploring Albufeira Old Town
The Old Town of Albufeira is full of charm, culture, and great photo spots. A short ride from the resort, this area is perfect for evening strolls or local shopping. Highlights included: Praia dos Pescadores – Lively beach with bars and music
Local Shops – I picked up a beautiful summer scarf and artisan souvenirs
The Strip – Buzzing nightlife and cocktails galore

Where We Ate in Albufeira – At Pine Cliffs & New Town
Since we visited just before peak season, some on-site restaurants were closed. However, we did enjoy breakfast at Jardim, which offered a wonderful selection to start the day. We’re looking forward to returning and trying more of the resort’s delicious offerings, including the famous peri peri dishes.
Opting for B&B gave us the freedom to explore:
- Pastéis de Nata – Flaky, creamy, and addictive, these were part of the delicious breakfast spread at Jardim restaurant in the hotel.
- Portuguese orange tart – Light and packed with citrus flavour, also included in the breakfast selection at Jardim.
- La Bodega – €25 all-you-can-eat steakhouse. Great value and excellent cuts.
- Clay Oven Indian – Possibly the best Indian food I’ve had! We devoured the mixed grill, garlic naan, and more.
